Cigar Review: Neya Classic 5

The Neya Classic 5 by Roberto Duran Cigars

The Neya line within Roberto Duran’s cigar portfolio comes in 5 vitolas. The first three are classic sizes (Petit Corona, Robusto, Canonazo) while the final two are larger and stronger vitolas and carry the “F8” symbol.

Produced at the Nicatabaco factory in Esteli, Nicaragua, The Neya Classic 5 is a Petit Corona measuring 5 1/8 x 42 Ring Gauge. An Ecuadorean leaf wraps Nicaraguan tobacco to create this very approachable cigar.

Neya Classic 5 Petit Corona -

There is beautiful red pepper, nutmeg, and light dried apricot aromas in the first third, with an interesting orange peel/citrus note on the palate.

These citrus notes increase in the second half of the cigar. The red pepper aroma enjoyed in the first half drop away while there is a very nice nutmeg spice coming through.

The flavour of the last stage of the cigar drops away a little bit, with cedar and some pepper the most detectable aromas and flavours.

Overall, this mild-medium bodied cigar is a good choice for newcomers and seasoned cigar lovers as it fits great flavour into an approachable size and smoking time (which was just over 50 minutes) that all can enjoy.

The Neya Classic 5 will be online at very soon!
